The 1st English Reading Club in La Coruna was a success...Lets make an even better 2nd season!!! WELLCOME TO OUR CLUB!!! The English Reading Club is an innitiative that has been set up by the Miguel Gonzalez Garces library in La Coruña‎. This Blog shall allow all particpants (and others) to discuss the ideas discussed in the club in their own time. Alice Walker Profile

Alice Malsenior Walker (born February 9, 1944) is an African American author and poet. She has written at length on issues of race and gender, and is most famous for the critically acclaimed novel The Color Purple for which she won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.

  1. Jessica i have been going ahead reading the book at home. so i think we could be more focused on the reading and comment on idioms and expressions from the book, that it could be highly usseful in order to know non-formal english.
    i also appreciate that people that have spent time reading the book at home could share some comments at our mettings.
    another suggestion. i think we should try more to all the people get more involved at sessions, maybe making rounds with a litlle time to each person, and maybe its better going more focussed on the reading of the book. that could helps avoid some of the people taking the most of the time making comments, and no time left for going ahead on the book or other stuff. Thanks

    I fell passionate about Alice Walker and The Color Purple!!! It has been a great election...

    In the last sessions we had some English native speakers, that helped us to get to know a bit better the "American World" but didn´t know much about the book....that is true :) :) in todays session we will be totally focus on the book......I really miss having a chat about it, I am totally devoted to Alice Walker ;)
